![]() I work and live to Enna a calm country exactly placed to the center of Sicily. My photographic experience begins from boy when in the house the first reflex 35 mm entered, and for a long time, with unchanged interest, it is continued thin today. The technique I have acquired from autodidactic: days whole trails to photograph, many errors, some job, books, many books (on the technique and on the art), and finally, the overcoming of every technical tie for to conquer the photo as expressive liberty and as fun. Graduated in journalism, cultivating the hope to become press-photographer. This way the photo has become my companion of every day, I devote me to it with great passion, I look for it in to the road, among the people, or in the country, absorbed in the nature, at times, more simply, in the house. The photo is anywhere there is beauty and the beauty it surrounds us anywhere, at times with overbearance, without leaving escape to the observer, but more often with lightness, without making to be noticed if not from the internal eye. My photos aspire to capture the forms of the reality according to the beauty of the reality becomes expressive beauty, and in photo's world, to touch the level of the expressive beauty, means to make “visible” an intense and subjective personal truth. In the visual language I have a preference for the possibility to play with the inside order of the elements; I love the rigor of the composition but I don't disdain, every now and then, to twist it in the unusual one. For me, the substance is in the form, and the form of the figuration is my one man show possibility of “escape from the things of every day ” The passage to the digital photo represents a very important change, in the practice but especially in the theoretical reflection; many open debates during the nine hundred they are dead in the nothing: the photo is not and cannot be, the representation of the reality. The photo is only a way to see the things; a point of view. Every technique, every tool, every manipulation of the visual one has, for me, the same value. What it counts it is to say something, to express him, to take position and conscience of the world, and not for last to have a good time. |
